Do you have a special celebration coming up? Perhaps just looking for an opportunity where you and your significant other can have a relaxing night together? Then I highly recommend the Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse inside River City Casino. Mr. Deals Diva and I went there this past Saturday night. IT WAS FABULOUS!!
Jeff Ruby's is new to the St. Louis Market, but they are no stranger to steak and seafood. They are a household name in the Cincinatti Market and have a presence in Louisville and Indiana. But they are located inside a casino, you say. Who Cares! If you have ever been to Vegas, you understand that Casinos are more than gambling. They contain musical entertainment, comedy shows, Broadway productions, concerts, shopping and let's not forget many "tantalize your taste bud" restaurants. A one stop entertainment mecca.
In addition to the wonderful meal we had, music we listened to and site seeing of the nice architecture within the venue itself, not a penny went into a slot machine or towards a table game.
How did Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse get on our agenda for Saturday night? My husband, like myself, LOVES a deal and saving money. He purchased a $50 gift certificate on this very same website I'm blogging on and took me on a date. He gets an A+ on this purchase! It was smart of him to purchase a gift certificate to a restaurant we had never been to. Low risk that hopefully would come with a high reward…and it certainly DID!
We've enjoyed many steaks around the St. Louis area and have dined at most of the upscale well-known places in the metro. What I can tell you about Jeff Ruby's is the steaks are out of this world, but I'm not just a meat-eater. I've got to have my salad, my side dishes and a cocktail from the bar. I had the boneless New York Strip and my husband had the barrel-cut filet. Melt in your mouth delicious. The baked potatoes were big and fluffy, and the asparagus and macaroni & cheese were better than the best I've had. Let's not forget the bread…and I've eaten LOTS of bread over the years. We honestly were so full that we didn't even get to dessert.
In addition, they had live music and the ambiance was just perfect. I would definitely go to Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse again. I'm not going to brush over the fact that they are a little pricey and I certainly understand how we have all done a little belt tightening with the economy, but they are inbounds when it comes to the coin you'd drop at Morton's, Shannon's, Porter's, Ruth Chris or Annie Gun's.
The half off gift certificate my husband purchased certainly was the tipping point for us selecting this as our destination, especially since we'd never dined there before. Only one of our $50 gift certificates could be used at a time, but still was well worth the purchase.
